Mom, I’m Bored! 50 Ideas to Beat the Boredom

This has absolutely nothing to do with health and fitness (unless you are talking about mental health or keeping your kids busy so you can exercise – in which case it totally fits), but my 5 year old has been driving me BONKERS lately with the “I’m bored” whine. I really cannot stand to hear a kid say that. I suppose it’s my fault for not forcing him to use his imagination enough, and giving him too much free time with electronics. Unfortunately for him, Mom has decided to enforce a time limit on the iPad…which means he has to think of other things to do with the rest of his day.

Enter the I’m Bored List.

I poked around on Pinterest (the land of #alltheideas) and compiled a list of things that my 5 year old son could do mostly independently. We could also decide to do some of these activities together, but there are times when I’m working or cooking or whatever and I just need him to entertain himself for a while. After I created this list – and I’m totally going to hang it in his room! – I thought there may be some other moms who could benefit from some boredom buster ideas as well. So…here you go!!
